Corpse from Jacquie

"The city may be nothing more than a labyrinth of interconnected relationships. We measure our place in the city by the patterns of attachment to those objects and people ensuring our position, ever shifting in a grid of longing. " This is just a prototype, oh and turn up the sound.

are you kidding ?! Your friend started that website? I only found it because one of my good friends who lives in London and goes to school at the Glasgow School of Art in Scotland had a link to it in his profile.

Thats wicked awesome!

Yes yes yes, everyone make one because this is what is getting me through my loooong days designing logos at work for clients like lumber companies or banks. Whooohooo.

Way to go Megan's friend

muxtape.com

So my friend started this site called muxtape and it's spreading like wildfire. It's a quick and easy way to share playlists, a lot like how we used to pass around mixed tapes. I thought it might be kind of amazing to share our muxtapes with eachother and allow the cross pollination of musical influences while being on the other side of the earth. It really takes no time to make and is super easy to make and listen to.

Check out the site here.
Mine is here.
Caitlin's is here.

Make and share and listen.

See ya'll soon

You'll Laugh at this...

so, I've officially had my first "oh shit" dream about the trip to Sydney.  in the dream, I forgot to pack all my cameras and all my film.  I have vague impressions of being panic stricken and all anyone could say when I'd ask them for help was that they were going to the beach, including my sister....  go figure :)

some thoughts

Exquisites...

We (Simone, Meghan and me) met on thursday, where they showed me the work which has been done so far :) we talked a lot about ny in terms of being an open city to experience, yet very closed whenever you really want to get to the essence (people, people's homes...)

walking the streets in NY often ressembles being inside rather than outside, since the buildings are larger than the streets or pavements. Access to most places isnt always easy though- i had reflected on most of the doors being open in Goa, whereas doors tend to be closed most of the times in ny.

Everyone is pretty much on their own in the city, which does not mean alone-- peole feel more connected to themselves (at least I do) than in any other place.

I particularly started to think abot how water is an influence to the city, being surrounded by high and low tides...and the way this is already adressed in the work.

see you on wednesday!
